Every parent and educator hopes that their child or student will learn, progress and succeed and go on to lead the fullest life possible.

For almost 30 years, St. Joseph's Villa has provided care and education to children with autism and developmental disabilities. In the early 1980's, the Villa opened the region's first weekend respite center, and soon thereafter, the Villa began providing educational programs to children with autism.

Today, St. Joseph's Villa provides a variety of services to help children with autism and their families. The Sarah Dooley Center for Autism is a school for children with autism and other related developmental disabilities. Our teachers use ABA techniques, among others, to deliver individualized educational programs for each child. The Sarah Dooley Center also has a strong focus on providing its students with skills to help them make a successful transition to adulthood.

Our goal is to help students develop skills that will improve their quality of life and will provide the greatest degree of independence and access to the community as they transition into adulthood. The academic program is complemented by vocational and life skills training which enables our students to lead more independent lives as adults.
